The importance of teaching English is still being ignored in nursing education curriculum in Taiwan especially in writing skill. Although, mastering English language for nursing students is crucial skill due to major communication in medical recorders, doctor’s order, to nursing notes primarily using English. Therefore, nursing student completely got limited learning experiences to develop their English skill. The writers of the journal try to give the idea of research to break this problem. They proposed to apply TPACK model to design an online English writing course for nursing students. Moreover, they explore the effect of the course to the students’ learning progress as well as their satisfaction and perception.
A single-group experimental study was chosen as the design of the research.  The writers used the National College Entrance Examination Center (CEEC) writing guiding criteria and a self-designed course satisfaction questionnaire. Fifty-one students were selected randomly from the sample. The research included quantitative and qualitative data. Quantitative data were analyzed by using descriptive statistic and repeated measure MANOVA. Whereas, qualitative data were analyzed using content analysis.
The result of their research showed that the students’ writing improved significantly. In addition, the students felt satisfied with the course design, which demanded them to do the task and peer review activities integrated with technology. However, they preferred a direct review from their teachers rather than their peer review. At the end of the journal, the writers suggested for the future researcher to include different academic subject and/or specific model dimension based on TPACK model.
